The world's AI infrastructure runs on materials made within a hundred kilometres of Osaka. The companies that produce them rarely appear in the English-language press. When they do, the coverage is late, shallow, and stripped of context. That is the gap Osaka Logic exists to close.
Japan's technology coverage is almost entirely centred on Tokyo. SoftBank and Sony make headlines. The Kansai manufacturers that supply the components those headlines depend on do not. Murata makes the capacitors inside every iPhone. Kyocera makes the ceramic packages that protect the chips inside every server rack. Rohm makes the power semiconductors increasingly critical to the electrification of transport and industrial machinery. None of these companies are obscure. All of them are systematically undercovered in English.
The reason is structural. Japanese corporate communication happens almost entirely in Japanese. Press releases, exchange filings, conference presentations, university announcements: the primary record of this ecosystem exists in a language most foreign investors, analysts, and journalists cannot read. The result is a systematic lag. English-language coverage of Japanese hard-tech events arrives months late, filtered through second-hand sources, and stripped of the institutional context needed to make sense of it.
We do not wait for a Tokyo correspondent to notice. We do not wait for an IR team to translate a press release. We monitor the primary record itself, from corporate announcements and METI filings to university research publications and J-STAGE papers, and we write from that record. We translate what matters, put it in context for a foreign-side audience, and publish it with citations attached.

The Kansai region is one of the most consequential places in the global technology supply chain. Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and the industrial corridor that connects them hold a density of advanced materials science, precision manufacturing, and applied research with few equivalents anywhere in the world. Knowing what is being built, funded, and licensed here is a genuine competitive advantage for anyone operating in the global hard-tech economy, and that advantage is growing: a semiconductor supply chain in the middle of restructuring, and a post-Expo Osaka actively courting foreign capital, have made this cluster more strategically relevant than at any point in a generation.
We believe that intelligence should travel at the speed of events, not the speed of translation queues. We believe that a primary source is worth more than a summary of a summary. And we believe that editorial judgement, deciding what matters and why, is not something you add later. It is the core of the product.
