OSAKA LOGIC.
An English-language briefing publication covering the Osaka and Kansai innovation ecosystem, for readers who need to know what is happening now in Kansai.
The Signal is in Kansai
Osaka Logic tracks semiconductors, robotics, and applied AI, the three industries where Kansai's weight in the global economy is heaviest. Alongside them, we cover the startups and innovation emerging across the region, from university spinouts to new manufacturing ventures.
Kansai is where the factories are. Tokyo is headquarters and policy; Kansai is where Japan's biggest manufacturers actually build, from Murata and Kyocera to Panasonic and Daikin. It's also where the research behind that manufacturing happens, at Kyoto University and Osaka University, two of the institutions behind Japan's unusually high count of Nobel laureates.
We report on Japan more broadly when it matters, including national policy shifts that affect the industries we cover, but our editorial stance is Kansai-first: we read it through the region that builds it, not the capital that governs it.
Our primary sources are almost entirely Japanese, corporate announcements, government filings, conference proceedings, and we prioritize getting them into English before they go stale.
MLCCs, power devices, compound semiconductors, packaging materials. Murata, Kyocera, Rohm, Omron, Sharp, Panasonic.
Industrial automation, lab robotics, medical devices. Osaka University, Kawasaki Robotics, Daikin.
Cross-sector. AI from Kansai corporates and university labs applied to manufacturing, materials science, and biomedical research.
The Monthly Brief
Once a month, Osaka Logic publishes a consolidated brief covering the top three to five signals across semiconductors, robotics, and AI. Subscribers get it delivered by email.
Editorial Standards
Every article is anchored to a verifiable primary source, cited, with any claim beyond it marked as editorial analysis.
Work With Us
Osaka Logic provides paid market access services for organisations that need more than a publication: targeted introductions to researchers, operators, and investors across Kansai; source checks on specific companies or technologies; briefing calls with editorial analysis and sector context; ongoing retainer engagements for market monitoring.
